Dourena Quick Take

An everyday dry food for growing puppies. Chicken is the first ingredient, and Purina’s label says the formula’s complete-and-balanced claim is substantiated by AAFCO feeding tests. If your puppy has a known chicken or wheat sensitivity, check Ingredient Watch.

  • Commonly reported food allergen

Mainly relevant for dogs with a known wheat allergy or sensitivity. Source

Good to Know
  • A concentrated poultry ingredient

AAFCO defines poultry by-product meal as ground, rendered poultry parts such as necks, feet, undeveloped eggs and intestines, with most of the water and fat removed. Source

  • Worth knowing

The label includes garlic oil but does not state the amount. Garlic can be harmful to dogs at sufficient exposure, so the ingredient is worth noting; the available label information is not enough to determine risk from this formula. Source

    PERFECT!!!

My Chihuahua absolutely loves this food! He gets so excited every time it’s mealtime and always finishes his bowl. The kibble is a great size for his tiny mouth, and he seems to digest it really well. I also love knowing that he’s getting good nutrition while he’s still growing. He’s happy, energetic, playful, and thriving on it. Definitely a great choice for my little guy!
