About

Researched, then checked by a person.

Dourena exists because choosing what to feed a dog, what to put on their skin, or who to leave them with for a weekend is harder than it should be — and because most of what is published about those decisions is written to sell rather than to inform.

How a record gets made

Research starts with the manufacturer’s own published information — the label, the ingredient panel, the guaranteed analysis — and a business’s own listing of its hours and services. When a detail comes from somewhere else, such as a retailer’s listing, that source is named on the page.

Anything we cannot confirm is recorded as unconfirmed rather than filled in with a plausible number. A missing price stays blank, and an unconfirmed detail is flagged in the research record. This is enforced in the research pipeline, not left to judgment.

Nothing reaches the public site automatically. Every record waits in an approval queue until a person approves it. When it is published, its research sources and the date it was checked are published with it, so you can check the work.

What we will not do

We do not invent a price, an ingredient, a rating, an address or a set of opening hours. We do not say a product cures, treats or prevents anything — where a manufacturer makes a health claim, we attribute it to them and leave it there.

And no amount of money buys a rating or a ranking position. That one is set out in full, including the revenue streams it constrains, on how we make money.

Where we are

Dourena is in public beta. The catalog is small and growing one approved record at a time, local listings are opening city by city, and several parts of the platform — reviews, Pawgram, the Birthday Club — are still being built.

We would rather show you an empty category than a full one nobody has read. Where a page has nothing in it yet, it says so.

Dourena is operated by Dourena LLC. To reach us, write to info@dourena.com or use the contact page.
